revitalizing the philippine minerals industry

The Minerals Industry: Boon or Bane to National Economic Development?
Are You Part of the Solution or Part of the Problem?

October 17-19, 2001
Mapua Institute of Technology
Muralla St., Intramuros, Manila

Three professional societies -- the Philippine Society of Mining Engineers (PSEM), the Geological Society of the Philippines (GSP) and the Society of Metallurgical Engineers of the Philippines (SMEP)-- have banded together to organize a workshop taking a critical look at the ailing minerals industry.

This workshop is intended as a first step toward revitalizing the industry and identifying its future role in Philippine economic development.

This temporary site will contain archival information on the proceedings of the workshop. The results of the workshop will be presented in a paper at the Mining Philippines 2001 Conference in November 2001.
